Privacy Policy
What this site collects about you — and what its advertising partner may set when ads are shown — in plain terms.
This site collects no personal data of its own. It has no accounts, no login, no comment system, no newsletter, and no tracking scripts of its own. Two third-party Google services may be present depending on site configuration — Google Analytics for anonymous usage statistics and Google AdSense for advertising — and both are described on this page.
The rest of this page explains exactly what that means in practice, and names the three places where data handling is outside this site's control: hosting infrastructure, outbound links, and the advertising partner described in the Advertising section.
1. What This Site Does Not Do
| Practice | Status on this site |
|---|---|
| User accounts or login | None — there is nothing to sign in to |
| Analytics or visitor measurement | Google Analytics (GA4) only — and only when the operator configures a measurement ID for the site; no other analytics tool is used |
| Tracking pixels or scripts | None besides the conditional Google loaders described below (Analytics and AdSense) |
| Advertising or ad networks | Third-party ads via Google AdSense — see the Advertising section below |
| Affiliate or referral links | None — retailer and store links carry no affiliate parameters |
| Cookies set by this site | None — see the cookie policy |
| Browser storage (localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB) | None — the site reads and writes nothing to your browser storage |
| Email list or newsletter | None — no address is collected, so none can be mailed |
| Selling or sharing personal data | Not possible — no personal data is held |
The "none" entries above are properties of the code that generates this site and can be checked in any page's source. The only third-party scripts the site can ship are the conditional Google loaders: the AdSense loader (present only when advertising is enabled) and the Google Analytics gtag loader (present only when a measurement ID is configured).
2. Search
The on-site search at /search runs entirely inside your browser. The full text index is delivered with the page when it first loads, and every keystroke is scored locally against that index. No search query is sent to this site's server or to anyone else's, and no query is logged.
You will notice the address bar change as you type — the query is written into the URL so that a search can be bookmarked or shared. That is a local browser history update. It involves no network request and stores nothing on this site's side. Clearing it is a matter of clearing your own browser history.
3. Where Data Handling Is Outside This Site's Control
Hosting infrastructure
Like every website, this one is served by a hosting provider. Standard HTTP request logging at that layer — typically your IP address, browser user agent, the page requested, and a timestamp — is a normal part of operating any web server and is not something this site can switch off from its own code.
The operators of this site do not access, analyse, aggregate, or export those logs, and they are not used for any purpose described on this page. Which provider is involved, and what its own retention period is, depends on where the site is deployed and is governed by that provider's privacy policy rather than this one.
Outbound links
This site cites a large number of external sources — the developer, the publisher, gaming press, and independent community guides. The complete list is in the source register. When you follow one of those links you leave this site, and the destination collects data under its own privacy policy, which this site has no influence over and has not reviewed.
One thing this site does control: every outbound link is marked rel="noopener noreferrer". The noreferrer part means your browser does not send a Referer header, so the destination site is not told which page of this wiki you came from. That is a deliberate choice and it applies to all outbound links without exception.
4. Children
This site is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone of any age. Because nothing is collected, there is no personal information about children — or about anyone else — held here.
5. Your Rights
Privacy rights such as access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection apply to personal data that is actually processed. This site itself processes none. The advertising cookies described in section 7 are set and processed by Google under its own policies — Google's opt-out tools linked there are the way to control them.
If you believe that is inaccurate — for example, if you find something on this site that appears to identify you — contact us and it will be removed. Contact details are below and on the contact page.
6. Contact
This site does not publish a public email address. The fastest route is the official WARDOGS Discord, where the operators of this wiki can be reached directly.
7. Advertising and Analytics
Advertising
Advertising on this site is served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies — including the DoubleClick cookie — to serve and personalise ads based on your visits to this site and other websites. These cookies are set by Google, not by this site's own code, and no personal data is collected by this site for advertising purposes.
You can opt out of personalised advertising from Google at google.com/settings/ads, and review broader industry opt-outs at aboutads.info. Where local law requires it — for example in the EEA and UK — a consent notice is shown before advertising cookies are placed, and you can withdraw consent at any time from that notice or by clearing cookies in your browser.
Google Analytics
When the site operator configures a Google Analytics 4 measurement ID (an environment variable starting with G-), Google's gtag script is loaded to collect anonymous, aggregate usage statistics — page views, referrers, and rough geography. IP addresses are anonymised before storage, and this site does not use Analytics for remarketing or cross-site advertising profiles. Analytics stores a first-party cookie (_ga) to distinguish returning visitors, covered in the cookie policy. You can opt out of Analytics data collection with Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
8. Changes to This Policy
If accounts, analytics, or any other new form of data collection is ever added to this site, this page will be rewritten to describe it before the feature ships — not afterwards.
