Valkyra: Russian Operators (Red Team)

Valkyra is the red-coded faction in WARDOGS. Official faction material describes the team's goal as returning "the Soviet People's Republic to greatness," positioning Valkyra as a Russian/Soviet-loyalist operator force.

GameWatcher confirms Valkyra is the Russian team, red-coded, whose objective is to restore the Soviet People's Republic. This gives Valkyra a clear ideological identity distinct from the Texan Lonestar and the Persian Manticore.

As the red team, Valkyra is visually distinct from blue Lonestar and green Manticore, which matters for identifying friend and foe in a three-way Control Zone fight where two enemy factions are always present.

Valkyra's lore is built around Soviet restoration. The faction's objective is to return the Soviet People's Republic to greatness, which frames it as a Russian nationalist or Soviet-loyalist force rather than a conventional modern army.

This ideological framing gives Valkyra a different flavour from the mercenary-capitalist Lonestar and the shadow-army Manticore. All three are fighting for Kolchia and PV-1, but Valkyra's motive is presented as restoring a lost Soviet great-power status.

The Soviet/Russian identity is reflected in the Supporter Edition's Valkyra-themed A-91 assault rifle camo, one of three faction-themed weapon camos bundled with the higher-tier version of the game.

Mechanically, Valkyra plays identically to Lonestar and Manticore. The faction accesses the same weapon shop, the same persistent cash economy, and the same construction, destruction and vehicle systems as the other two teams.

What differs is visual: Valkyra players appear in red, distinguishing them from blue Lonestar and green Manticore inside the Control Zone. In a three-team fight where identifying the third faction is a survival skill, the colour coding is the main gameplay-facing difference.

Choice of Valkyra is therefore a thematic and cosmetic decision. Players who want the Soviet-restorationist identity and the red team colour pick Valkyra without gaining or losing any weapons, vehicles or abilities.
