WARDOGS Vehicles and Combined Arms
An overview of the vehicles in WARDOGS Early Access — light, transport, armed, logistics, armour, anti-air, artillery, and helicopters.
Combined-Arms Warfare on a 256 km Battlefield
WARDOGS is designed as a combined-arms FPS where infantry, vehicles, construction, and logistics all interact on a single 256-square-kilometre map. Up to 100 players across three teams compete for control of a randomly generated 2x2 km Control Zone. Every 30 seconds, the team with the most players inside the zone scores a point, and the first team to reach 100 points wins the match.
Vehicles are not optional in this format. The distances between spawn points, forward operating bases (FOBs), and the Control Zone are too large to cover on foot in a timely manner. Teams that invest in transport vehicles, helicopters, and logistics trucks can insert players and supplies into the Hot Zone far more efficiently than teams that rely on infantry movement alone. Official marketing materials from BULKHEAD and Team17 explicitly list helicopter supply runs, heavy vehicle operation, and artillery support as core playstyles.

The Cash Economy and Vehicle Investment
Every player starts a match with $10,000 in persistent cash. Vehicles are purchased from this same pool as weapons, armour, and medical supplies. Cash persists between matches, meaning that a player who earns a surplus in one match can afford better vehicles and loadouts in the next. This creates a positive feedback loop where successful logistics players accumulate wealth faster than pure combat players.
The most lucrative activities in WARDOGS are vehicle-mediated. Transporting passengers into the Hot Zone pays $500-$1,000 per person, with a $500 survival bonus and $750 per passenger kill. Transporting cargo pallets to the Hot Zone pays $2,500 per pallet (each pallet costs $400 to acquire), and a teammate who uses that pallet to build a FOB earns the transporter an additional $1,800. Parking a spawn vehicle in the target zone pays $3,000. These rewards make vehicles not just a convenience but the primary income engine for teams.
- • Passenger transport to Hot Zone: $500-$1,000 per person
- • Passenger survival bonus: +$500 per person
- • Passenger kill bonus: +$750 per kill
- • Cargo pallet delivery to Hot Zone: $2,500 per pallet ($400 cost)
- • FOB construction from delivered pallet: +$1,800
- • Spawn vehicle parked in target zone: $3,000
Vehicle Categories at a Glance
Combat vehicles provide heavy armour and direct fire support, allowing teams to break through entrenched positions and suppress enemy movement. Transport vehicles move troops and cargo across the battlefield, connecting spawn points to the front line. Logistics vehicles handle the supply chain of pallets, construction materials, and ammunition that sustain forward operating bases. Aviation assets, primarily helicopters, provide rapid air insertion and extraction.
Each category interacts with the others. A helicopter can deliver troops to the Hot Zone, but those troops need a nearby FOB stocked with supplies delivered by logistics trucks. Tanks can breach defences, but they need infantry support to prevent anti-armour ambushes. The team that coordinates all four vehicle categories effectively will consistently out-score teams that specialise in only one.
What Is Confirmed vs What Is Speculation
Twenty-six vehicles are documented from vendor captures and the 9 September Season 1 changelog, out of a launch roster that media reports put at 27; BULKHEAD has never published the complete vehicle list in one place, so treat 27 as the reported total and the table on this page as the verified subset. The roster spans light transports (Bobcat, Dune Buggy), armed SUVs (Kodiak M249, Kodiak Assault, Humvee Minigun), logistics trucks (Ural, Ural Defender, Kodiak Flatbed, URAL Attack), a spawn APC (M113 APC SV), heavy armour (L2A6 main battle tank, Flakpanzer Gepard anti-air, SPH-2 self-propelled artillery), and eight helicopter variants (MH-6, UH-1Y, Z20 Lakota, Z20 Lakota Miniguns, AH-6M, AH-6R, Havoc).
A key Early Access change moves tanks from the Wardog account track to the Driver role track. During the beta, tanks were unlocked through general Wardog level progression, meaning any playstyle contributed. For Early Access, ground vehicle time feeds Driver XP, so players who want to crew an L2A6 must grind lower-tier ground vehicles first. The first ~20 levels of each track keep close to beta pacing, but higher-tier unlocks are stretched further apart.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many vehicles are in WARDOGS?
Media reports put the launch roster at 27 vehicles; this page documents 26 of them with sources, spanning light, transport, armed, logistics, spawn, armour, anti-air, artillery, and helicopter categories. Notable entries include the L2A6 main battle tank ($14,000, Driver Lv 35), Flakpanzer Gepard anti-air ($8,000, Driver Lv 45), SPH-2 self-propelled artillery ($10,000, Career Lv 90), the M113 APC spawn vehicle, and the Havoc attack helicopter ($18,000, Pilot Lv 50). BULKHEAD has not published the full list, so a small number of entries remain unverified.
Do I need vehicles to win in WARDOGS?
While matches can technically be played on foot, vehicles are central to efficient troop insertion, supply delivery, and firepower support. The most lucrative cash rewards come from vehicle-mediated activities like transporting passengers and cargo pallets to the Hot Zone.
Can I buy a vehicle at the start of a match?
Yes. Vehicles are purchased from the same $10,000 persistent cash pool as weapons and equipment. However, spending too much on a vehicle at the start may leave you without adequate weapons or medical supplies, so balance is key.
Do vehicles persist between matches?
No. Like weapons and equipment, vehicles are lost on death and must be re-purchased. However, your cash balance persists between matches, so successful vehicle operators accumulate wealth over time.
